PIN's Brand Ambassador, Dawnn Lewis, Announces 'A New Day Foundation Event: FOCUSED N F.I.T For A Different World'

On May 26, 2018, the A New Day Foundation in partnership with the University of Southern California (USC) Black Alumni Association, has targeted to reach 1,200 under-served youth and their parents for a full-day of workshops, lunch, and scholarship program.

The FOCUSED N F.I.T. [Financially & Technologically Informed] For A Different World program partners with school districts and organizations throughout Southern California to identify underserved College and College-Bound High School Students to equip them with tangible Financial & Technological Tools and Information as well as Scholarships, to assist them toward a successful and productive future.

The program day includes a well-rounded curriculum of workshops in Healthy Life Choices, Responsible Sexual Behavior, Motivation & Activation and the Benefits of Higher Education. They have collaborated with other Youth Initiative Organizations such as Junior Achievement, Brotherhood Crusade, EMPOWHER Institute, Omega Psi Phi – Youth Leadership Conference & Black Girls Code, whose students will be among those attending the conference.

This program is currently being launched with a vision to grow and scale efforts on an annual basis with committed community partners and organizations, private and public, invested in long-term positive outcomes for our youth. High school graduation with the option of entering and completing college remains a key data indicator to close the school to prison pipeline.

FOCUSED N F.I.T. has garnered some support from organizations such as USC Black Alumni Association, Los Angeles Unified School District, LA County Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas, SoCal Gas, Aids Healthcare Foundation, UPS, Xerox and the United Negro College Fund. However, we need YOURsupport to host this event completely free of charge to all student/parent participants on May 26, 2018.

The organization is seeking financial donations to support the four tracks of development workshops: Finance, Technology, Healthcare & Higher Education. Funding for workshop track sponsors, facility costs, food, beverages, items to fill book bags that will be given to every participant, gift cards for volunteers, and much more!
